What Croydon Hills Asks Us For
Clear aligners and crowns are the other two things Croydon Hills patients ask about most, and both have their own section further down this page.
In-chair whitening is done in one appointment of around 60 to 90 minutes, with a barrier over the gums while the gel works. Take-home whitening uses trays made to fit your teeth and runs over one to two weeks. Neither changes the colour of existing fillings, crowns or veneers, so it is worth checking what is already in your mouth first.
In-chair and take-home whiteningVeneers cover the front of chipped, worn, uneven or stained teeth. Porcelain veneers are made in a laboratory over two or more visits and usually need a little enamel removed. Composite veneers are built up directly on the tooth, often in a single appointment, with less preparation and a lower cost.
Porcelain and composite veneersAn implant replaces the root of a missing tooth and can hold a single crown, a bridge or a denture. Treatment runs over several months, because the implant usually takes three to six months to bond with the jawbone. Planning scans are taken on the cone beam CT in our own building, so there is no separate imaging appointment.
How dental implants workWhat We Offer
Routine check-ups, scale and cleans, fillings, and preventive care to maintain your oral health. We focus on early detection and ongoing maintenance for patients of all ages.
Check-ups, fissure sealants and fluoride treatments in a child-friendly setting. We bulk bill eligible children through the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) for families in Croydon Hills and surrounding areas.
Toothache, broken teeth or dental trauma: we keep room in the day for urgent appointments. Call us and we will fit you in as soon as we can.
Aligner treatment is a good fit for the Luther College and Croydon Hills Primary age brackets, and for adults whose front teeth have crowded up again years after braces came off. It starts with a digital scan rather than a tray of impression putty. Our intraoral scanner builds the model here in the Croydon surgery, which is also what we use to check your teeth are tracking to plan at each review.
The honest constraint worth knowing before you book: aligners move teeth well through tipping and mild rotation, and less predictably where a tooth needs to be moved bodily through bone or where the bite itself has to be rebuilt. Some cases are better served by traditional braces or cosmetic braces, and we will say so at the assessment rather than after you have started.
See the clear aligners page for how the stages and reviews work.
Most crowns we place are on back teeth that have been filled and refilled over decades until there is more filling than tooth left, or on a molar that has cracked under a root canal. A crown caps what remains so the tooth stops flexing and splitting further.
We scan and mill crowns in-house, which for suitable cases means a same-day crown: one appointment, no temporary crown to come loose over a weekend, and no second trip down Plymouth Road two weeks later. Not every tooth suits it. Cases needing gum healing or a lab-layered front tooth still take two visits, and we will tell you which one yours is before we start.
Full detail is on our crowns and bridges page.
Come down Plymouth Road or Yarra Road and you will find Divine Dental Care in Croydon waiting, with free on-site parking and the whole team under one roof.
Plenty of households near the Croydon Hills boundary would say they live somewhere else. If home is really Ringwood, Ringwood North or Mooroolbark, those pages describe the trip from there. It is the same Wicklow Avenue practice at the end of each route, with the same treatments on offer.
